Dining At The Inn

Dining has always been an integral part of your stay here. As now, many guests in the 40’s came because of the food. They sat collectively at large lazy-susan tables and were served home-cooked meals family style on huge platters. The food was always prepared from the freshest of locally obtained ingredients, some grown in the Inn’s own garden.

Chef-prepared, slow-cooked, fabulous food is our tradition. The food and service are more attuned to the times now. Superb breakfasts and unforgettable romantic dinners are served fireside in our intimate dining room. We are told constantly by our guests: "I’ve never had such good food anywhere".

Fireside Breakfast
It’s included with your room at the Inn, and if you don’t stay here you’ll miss out on something wonderful. We seat you at your private table near the fire, and next to windows looking out over the dense greenery. You’ll receive today’s newspaper and be served freshly ground coffee or tea, and juice of your choice. Your huge breakfast is served when you’re ready and usually consists of freshly baked breads, fresh fruit, pancakes, one of our many unique egg dishes, accompanied by either applewood smoked bacon, herbed sausage, or whatever else our chef takes a fancy to prepare that morning. It’s a gourmet delight that varies daily and we’ve never seen anyone leave hungry!

Evening Dinner

In the evening, you’ll be seated at your private lace covered table, overlooking the wood burning fireplace, where your feast will commence. Dinner is served in courses. Start with some nice wine while you peruse the many delectable appetizers, entrees and sinful desserts on our menu. Our wait staff will see to your needs, wine will be served and your meal will proceed in 3 or more courses. This is a true dining experience: relaxed (jackets and ties are not required), fun & most delicious.

Guests Enjoying Dinner
Served Monday through Saturday, dinner reservations from guests and a limited number of locals are required. Because of our reputation for consistently fine food, quality local ingredients and our unique atmosphere, we do fill up on most nights. We take reservations for tables normally from 6 to 7:30 pm. We have an eclectic continental selection of beef, pork, lamb, fish and seafood entrees served with delicious vegetable casseroles. Interesting appetizers and delectable desserts round out our menu. We make everything here and our menu changes seasonally to reflect the freshest ingredients we can find. To compliment your dining experience, our wine list is filled with a carefully chosen selection of reasonably priced, highly rated wines … umm!

Wine In Our Cozy Bar or On The Porch
A real treat after a day of exploring the mountains, is to sit in our cozy bar, or on our front porch, relax and order a nice glass or bottle of wine. It’s a popular choice and available anytime, but only if you’re a guest at the Inn.

Ole! Sangria!
Another fun option is a pitcher of our homemade sangria with a basket of chips and salsa. We’ll deliver it to your room if you want and you can share it with your sweetie on your front porch. Ahhh! The perfect afternoon!

Special 6 Course Festive Lunches
Over the years we have become known for our extravagant, delicious 6-Course Lunches. It’s the only time we serve lunch; they’re fun and popular, so we usually fill up fairly quickly with Inn guests and locals alike.
These are the lunches planned this year:

  • Easter Sunday - April 8 2007
  • Mother's Day - May 13 2007
  • Thanksgiving Day - November 22 2007
  • Call for details.
